| Here is a picture of the roller cam and the thrust system I developed for it. For one reason or another, my previous motors were tearing apart the stock thrust plate. Early on the problem was my oil pump thrusting the cam out the front of the motor. On my last motor it was thermal expansion that forced the adapter for the timing wheel to pinch the thrust plate and self destruct. When I designed this cam I was determined not to repeat any of my previous mistakes. As you can see, it is a thrust system unlike anything currently on the market. The lifters were also an expensive lesson. After cutting an oil groove in the side of all 8 lifters, it turns out that the onse pictured below didn't have enough surface area to properly guide the lifter in the bore. Luckily I figured this out before starting the motor. Into the garbage can they went. I then ordered some solid body lifters which solved all my issues. |
